Forgotten I shall be
When you won’t remember
How I looked like
How I cut my sandwiches
In exact triangles
How my eyes would wander,
deep in the horizon
For a bird faraway
How I laughed on mundane jokes
And always wrote you notes
How I tucked my hair
When I was too busy to braid
How I drove my little car
On busy lanes, rapt with attention
How I loved cooking
Your treasured sunday meals
Forgotten I shall be
If only you let me
For one day
I shall walk away, bit too far
to trace back my steps
And then I shall come back only
As your cherished memory
