Deep in the dark woods,
Wandering through the stillness
I heard the treading of heavy boots
And shrieked out in fear.
The friendly stranger laughed aloud,
I breathlessly gaped at the Señor,
“You’re that wanderer,
He, who’s rumoured to be a terror.”
Whispering sweet nothings,
He took me into his arms;
Gently whisking me off to a world so surreal,
Where our lonely souls were happy together.
We created an Utopia
Out of our stolen times together,
Our hearts full of comforting silences
And our eyes filled with soulful vows.
And just then I felt a shiver
Like cold water sprinkled all over,
Mom was yelling, “Wake up you sleepyhead!”
And just like that he was gone, my stranger.
